Hepatology department was established in 2001 with 13 doctors and 48 beds. The department treats over a thousand inpatients and over 50,000 outpatients annually. The department fully leverages the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine and combines modern diagnostic and treatment equipment to accumulate a wealth of clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various acute and chronic hepatitis, liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and biliary system diseases. In recent years, the department has undertaken one major national science and technology project and two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Besides, the department has published over 30 academic papers, including two SCI papers, and won one third prize of the science and technology award of the China Association of Chinese Medicine.
